Are LockAtlas technicians employees?

No. You are an independent contractor, not an employee. This means:

Pro Tier (55%):
            
              $80-$110 per job
              At 5 jobs/day × 5 days = 25 jobs/week → $2,000-$2,750/week

              $87-$120 per job

On top of that: any parts you supply are reimbursed at full cost, and 100% of tips are yours (customers tip 15-20% on average).
        These figures illustrate how the split works at a given job volume — they are not a guarantee of earnings. Volume depends on customer demand in your area and the hours you make yourself available.

What is the commission split and how does it work?

We start from what the customer paid and take out two things that are not anyone's earnings: the NYC sales tax, which goes to New York State, and the cost of any parts, which is reimbursed to you in full. What's left — the service fee plus labor — is the pool that gets split:

          Pro Tier: 55% to you / 45% to LockAtlas (after 60 days, meet requirements)
          Platinum Tier: 60% to you / 40% to LockAtlas (elite status)

        You can request a price adjustment:
